Although Fishburne Wrestling gave up three, sometimes four, weights because of starters out, The Caissons came to wrestle at the First Annual Caissons Duals tournament on Saturday.
FMS Wrestling Coach Terry Waters had nothing but praise for his team. “I can’t say enough about these guys … my 126-pounder Dylan Ferrier, fought through adversity to go undefeated … my 160-pounder Bray Farrar came up with a big pin against the 4th-ranked kid in the state. Both are only sophomores!”
The Caissons were led by Senior Captain Lance Dorman (ranked 4th in the state), who ran his season record up to 10-0 by dispatching the 6th-ranked wrestler in the state by pin fall.
“Lance is the motor to this team and leads by example,” Waters said, “I have seen him take the monster mop from a freshman and clean the mats himself.”
Sophomore Eli Lianez (ranked 6th in the state) also went unbeaten on the day, running his season record up to 9-1.
Juniors Wade Branham and Asher Floyd also put in 5-0 performances at the Caissons Duals.
In the process, the Fishburne Military School Caissons Wrestling team gave Coach Terry Waters his 393rd career win.
“This is a tight knit group that does not point fingers,” said Waters of his 2021-2022 wrestlers. “They build each other up, and that starts with the captain! I am Proud to coach these kids.”
The Caissons (6-4) are back in action Tuesday December 14th at home. Wrestling starts at 6:00 pm.
